My Somewhat Unusual Career Path to Working With Bond University

This is a nice article from the NSW Law Society Journal on how my somewhat unusual career path led me to working with Bond University on our short online coaching course helping lawyers be better legal leaders & innovators.

The article is quite kind though I probably could have avoided oversharing about my “deep personality flaw” and link to Willie Nelson 😃

My motivation with the course is to help lawyers be successful in their careers and their lives. This has been the subject of my research at Bond for the last couple of years.

Students have access to the interviews/case studies I have done with more than 40 legal and business leaders, from the Global General Counsels of companies like Apple, PayPal, Oracle and Zurich Insurance to billionaires like Mike Cannon-Brookes and the writer/director of Dodgeball and We’re the Millers. There is definitely something for everyone.

The Program focusses a lot on practical legal innovation – from very simple but high impact changes to more complex projects. As you might expect, there is a lot of information and case studies on how lawyers can use Generative AI like ChatGPT/Microsoft Copilot. Every student works on an innovation project they can implement back at their organisation.

We have had some lovely feedback on the program, including “it’s like a hi-impact, mini-MBA tailor-made for lawyers”.

We limit the cohort to 30 and there are a few spots left in the March intake. It is all online and works for in-house and private practice lawyers at any stage of your career – so long as you are interested in learning. Maybe it’s for you or someone in your Team.
